The information in this article applies to:
This error indicates that the program attempted to update a resource record but was unable to do so.
The .DAT file is damaged such that the resource record cannot be read. PracticeMaster resource records include information regarding a file such as indexes, column layouts, field definitions, and form layouts created with the Form Designer. Environment-related issues such as network problems, hardware problems, operating system problems, etc. can cause this error.
Multiple resource records are included in each file. Resource records consist of critical and non-critical areas. Typically, a corrupted resource record requires restoring from a backup. However, if a non-critical area is damaged, it is possible that the error may be fixed by reindexing the file. It is quite normal for a corrupted resource record to cause other errors during other functions. For example, the same corrupted resource record can cause a 1310-1-401-0 error when opening a file. Likewise, the same corrupted resource record may cause a 1470-1-0-0 error when running the Reindex Files program.
This error can occur when attempting to use program files that are Version 14.1 or earlier with Version 14.2 or later data that has been converted to utilize transaction processing. When upgrading to Version 14.2 Tabs3 and PracticeMaster Client Server Version (CSV) software, a data conversion program must be run. This conversion allows the data files to be utilized with transaction processing. Detailed information regarding transaction processing is available in KB Article R11175, "Transaction Processing and Auto-Recovery." Additional information on converting to CSV is available in KB Article R11177, "Converting and Updating CSV Software."
To resolve this error, reinstall the Version 14.2 or later CSV software. This will upgrade your current programs files to Version 14.2 or later.
The best option is to restore from a good backup. If restoring is not an option, you can attempt to resolve the error using the following steps.
If the above options do not work, the only option to resolve this error is to restore from a backup. Exporting the data will not work.
