DFIC Error 180 - Task Based Billing Switch Conflict

SUMMARY

This error indicates that a client record has been encountered with a shared Cost Rate Table, but the client with the custom Cost Rate Table does not have the same Task Based Billing Client switch. This can occur when the client with the Cost Rate Table is a Task Based Billing Client and the client sharing the table is not, or when the client with the Cost Rate Table is not a Task Based Billing Client and the client sharing the table is.

RESOLUTION

This error can be corrected using the following steps:

  1. From the Tabs3 File menu, point to Open and then click Client.
  2. Enter the client number indicated in the Client ID column of the Data File Integrity Check Error Report
  3. On the Rates tab, click the Cost Rate Table button. Because the information was invalid, the rate table will be blank.
  4. Click the Save Table button to close the Cost Rate Table window.
  5. Click the Save button on the toolbar, or press Ctrl+S to save the client record.
  6. Close the Client file and run the Data File Integrity Check again to confirm that the error 180 has been corrected.

If desired, the client's Task Based Billing Client option (on the Setup tab of the Client Information window) can now be changed to match the client with the Cost Rate Table, and the Cost Rate Table can again be changed to share with the original client. Note that changing the Task Based Billing Client option may cause DFIC error 80 for any fee or cost transactions for that client that have not yet been final billed and updated.
