Entry Point Not Found / Error Starting Program

Summary

When starting Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software, it is possible to receive an "Entry Point Not Found" message (if using Windows XP/2000/NT) or an "Error Starting Program" message (if using Windows Me/98) before the Logon dialog box appears. These messages may indicate a problem with the version of the STUINFO.DLL file located in the program folder.

More Information

If the STUINFO.DLL file in the program folder is not the correct version, an error message will occur when starting Tabs3, PracticeMaster or GLS. The error message received will vary depending on the program being started and the operating system.

Windows XP/2000/NT Errors

Tabs3	TBMAIN.EXE - Entry Point Not Found	The procedure entry point ?STUInfo_SetString2@@YA_NHPBDK@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library STUINFO.dll.
PracticeMaster	CMMAIN.EXE - Entry Point Not Found	The procedure entry point ?STUInfo_SetString2@@YA_NHPBDK@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library STUINFO.dll.
GLS	GLMAIN.EXE - Entry Point Not Found	The procedure entry point ?STUInfo_GetString2@@YA_NHPADHK@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library STUINFO.dll.

Click OK to close the error message.

Resolution

This error is caused by having an incorrect STUINFO.DLL file in the program folder. For example, this error may occur if the STUINFO.DLL file is a Version 11 file and you are running Version 15, 14 or 12 programs.

To correct this error:

Reinstall System Configuration from your Tabs3 and PracticeMaster installation CD-ROM.

...OR...

Download an updated System Configuration installation file from the Software Updates page on our Web site at http://www.tabs3.com/support/update.html and reinstall the software using the downloaded file.

Other Errors

"<program name> - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point FindActCtxSectionStringA could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll": Cause: This message is displayed when you attempt to launch a Version 16 Tabs3 and PracticeMaster program on an unsupported operating system such as Windows 2000 and earlier.
Resolution: See KB Article R11377 "Tabs3 and PracticeMaster System Requirements" for a list of supported operating systems for Version 16.
