Summary

The Tabs3 Statement Designer lets you create customized page layouts for your billing statements. A small library of page layouts that allow you to quickly get started with the Statement Designer was implemented with the release of Tabs3 Version 11.2. This article provides instructions for obtaining and implementing Sample Layouts.

Downloading the Sample Layouts From Our Web Site

You can download the T3STMT.PC data file containing all of the Sample Layouts, or the SAMPLE2.XPC export file that contains only the three page layouts added in Version 12, from our Web site. If you download the current version of all layouts, the downloaded data file (T3STMT.PC) will replace your existing data file. This will overwrite your existing page layouts along with any changes to the layouts that may have been made. If you download the Statement Designer export file (SAMPLE2.XPC) that contains the three page layouts added in Version 12, the layout group can be imported into Tabs3 without affecting your existing page layouts.

To download the T3STMT.PC Statement Designer data file from our Web site

CAUTION: This procedure will replace your existing Statement Designer page layout data; all new or modified page layouts will be lost.

  1. Make a backup of your existing T3STMT.PC file.
  2. Open your Internet browser window and go to:  www.Tabs3.com/support/utilities.
  3. Click Tabs3 Reports and Templates.
  4. Click the T3STMT.PC file and save it to your Tabs3 current working directory. The Tabs3 current working directory can be determined by selecting About Tabs3 from the Tabs3 Help menu.
  5. Click Yes if prompted to overwrite the existing file.

To download the Statement Designer export file that contains the three page layouts added in Version 12

  1. Open your Internet browser window and go to:  www.Tabs3.com/support/utilities.
  2. Click Tabs3 Reports and Templates.
  3. Click the SAMPLE2.XPC file and save it to your hard disk. Be sure to note the location where you save the file.
  4. Follow the procedure for importing the layout group into Tabs3.

Copying the Statement Designer data file from another location

If you do not have the sample page layouts or you want to overwrite your existing layouts with the Sample Layouts, you can copy a valid T3STMT.PC file into your Tabs3 current working directory. This will overwrite your existing page layouts and any changes to the layouts that have been made. When upgrading Tabs3, the Sample Layouts are not installed in order to avoid overwriting any existing page layouts. However, the Sample Layouts are included in the Trial Software with Sample Data. To take advantage of the Sample Layouts after installing newer versions of Tabs3, you can use the following procedure to copy the T3STMT.PC file from the \TUTOR folder under the Tabs3 program folder into the program folder.

Note: If you have created or modified page layouts that you do not want overwritten, you can export the Sample Layout group from the Tabs3 Trial Software with Sample Data and then import the layout group into your Tabs3. Alternatively, you can download the layout group containing the three page layouts added in Version 12 from our Web site.

To copy the Sample Layouts from the TUTOR subfolder

CAUTION: This procedure will replace your existing Statement Designer page layout data; all new or modified page layouts will be lost.

  1. From the Tabs3 Help menu, select About Tabs3.
  2. Write down the location of the current working directory shown in the middle section of the window.
  3. Close Tabs3.
  4. Open Windows Explorer.
  5. Browse to the folder you wrote down in step 2.
  6. Double-click the TUTOR folder under the current working directory to open it.
  7. Right-click the T3STMT.PC file in the TUTOR folder and select Copy.
  8. Go back to the Tabs3 current working directory in Windows Explorer.
  9. Right-click the Tabs3 program folder and select Paste. Click Yes when asked if you want to overwrite the existing T3STMT.PC file.
