DFIC Error 27 - Reference Number is Zero

Summary

This error indicates a record was found with a reference number of zero.

Resolution

You may be able to resolve this error by compacting the file shown on the Error Report.

  1. Make a temporary backup. Do not overwrite a current backup.
  2. Access the Reindex Files program. 
  3. Select the Reindex Specific Files option and select the file shown on the Error Report. Then select the Compact Selected Files check box and begin the Reindex Files program.
  4. If this process successfully completes, then rerun the Data File Integrity Check program.
  5. If the Data File Integrity Check still indicates errors, you must restore the appropriate program's data files from a backup.
  6. If there are no errors during the Data File Integrity Check, you can resume using the software.

Note: If the Fee, Cost, Payment, or Client Funds Files are compacted, the reference numbers shown on the work-in-process transactions will change. If the Ledger File is compacted, the reference numbers shown on the client ledger records will change.
