Tabs3 Palm Software Product Information

Tabs3 Palm Software gives you the ability to integrate Tabs3 Versions 15, 14, 12 and 11 with handheld computers, such as Palm^™ Handhelds. This allows timekeepers to accurately keep track of billable time and expenses for clients while working away from the office and later HotSync those transactions to Tabs3. Handheld users have the ability to edit or delete any fee or cost transaction on the handheld prior to HotSyncing them to Tabs3. The Tabs3 Palm Software alleviates the additional time and expense of having to record transactions, then having someone enter the transactions into Tabs3 at a later date. The handheld device can interface with a computer running Tabs3 and transfer all of the recorded transactions for clients directly into Tabs3; attributing all fee, cost, and expense transactions to the appropriate timekeeper. If Tabs3 is set up to integrate with Tabs3's General Ledger Software (GLS), debits and credits for cost transactions will automatically be created and posted to GLS at the time you synchronize transactions from the handheld computer.

• Ability to specify which timekeeper worked on a fee transaction.

• Ability to browse Category information.
• Ability to browse Tcode information.
• Ability to browse Task Code information.

Requirements

The Tabs3 Palm Software is a separate software module. Documentation for the Tabs3 Palm Software is provided in a PDF file on the installation CD.

System Requirements

• Windows Vista/XP.
• This software must be installed on a system that supports long file names. This software will not run on older Novell servers that do not support long file names.
• A Palm OS^® Version 4 or 5 compatible handheld computer with 1 MB of RAM.

Software Requirements

• System Configuration program (included with the Tabs3 software)
• Tabs3 Version 15, 14, 12 or 11
• Palm Desktop Version 6.2, 5, or 4.0

Note: The Tabs3 Palm Software will only work with handheld devices running Palm OS^® software. The Tabs3 Palm Software will not work on handheld devices that run on other operating systems such as Windows CE or BlackBerry operating systems.

Palm Desktop Version 6.2 Installation

Version 15 of the Tabs3 Palm Application is compatible with Palm Desktop 6.2 and can be installed normally. However, when using Palm Desktop Version 6.2 with Tabs3 Version 14 or 12, a workaround has been developed.
