DLL Files Installed by Tabs3 and PracticeMaster Software

SUMMARY

Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software installs various *.DLL files when the software is installed from the CD-ROM. Additionally, each workstation that will be using the software must run the SETUP.EXE program so that the appropriate DLL files are installed on the workstation. This article includes a comprehensive list of all of the DLL files that are used by Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software.

MORE INFORMATION

The SETUP.EXE program is used to launch the workstation installation that installs the required files and shortcuts for each workstation that will be using Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software. The SETUP.EXE program also detects the operating system (NT or Windows 95/98/ME/2000, etc.) and then copies the appropriate *.DLL files to the user's <WINDOWS>\<SYSTEM> directory. The SETUP.EXE program updates the *.DLL file if the existing *.DLL file has an internal version number that is less than or equal to the version number of the DLL being installed. The Date/Time stamp of the file is not considered.

Shared DLL Note: Because shared DLL files are used, we recommend users exit all other applications before installing Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software. If a DLL file is in use when the SETUP program attempts to update the file, a temporary file with a *.NEW extension is created and the operating system is notified. A modification is made to the Windows Operating System startup and the old DLL file will be replaced the next time the system is restarted (i.e., *.NEW is renamed to *.DLL).

Note: The following DLL files are removed from the program directory when installing System Configuration Version 10.6: ct1sng.dll and ct1mul.dll. Additionally, the ct1clt.dll file is also removed if the Client Server Version 10.5 was installed.

Historical Information

The cTree DLL files used by Tabs3 and PracticeMaster software have changed when an updated version of cTree is implemented and/or an updated compiler is used.
