DFIC Error 58 - Account Is a Heading/Total/Comment

The information in this article applies to:

• Tabs3 General Ledger Software (GLS) Versions 15, 14 & 12

SUMMARY

This error indicates a journal entry or recurring entry is posted to a Heading/Total/Comment account instead of a detail account. GLS checks for posting to Heading/Total/Comment accounts at the time of data entry so this error is most likely caused by corrupted data.

RESOLUTION

This error can be corrected by using one of the following options:

• The best option is to restore from a backup since this error is most likely caused by corrupted data. This may mean other data has been corrupted as well.
• Edit the account number for the journal entry or recurring entry listed by using the Journal Entry or Recurring Entry program.
