Last reviewed: 02/17/2009

The information in this article applies to:
- Tabs3 Billing Software Version 15, 14 & 12
- Tabs3 Remote Entry Software Version 15, 14 & 12
- Tabs3 Trust Accounting Software (TAS) Version 15, 14 & 12
- PracticeMaster Version 15, 14 & 12
SUMMARY
This error indicates that invalid characters were found in a Timekeeper field. The only characters allowed in this field are the numbers 1-999. The error 95 can also occur if the field includes a timekeeper number for which there is no record in the Timekeeper file (i.e., an invalid timekeeper). In Tabs3 Remote, this error may be found in the validation files or the remote data files.
RESOLUTION
Tabs3 and TAS
- Using the information shown on the Error Report, edit the appropriate record to correct the corrupted timekeeper number.
- If the error 95 is located in the Timekeeper Productivity file, it may have been caused by deletion of a timekeeper followed by a write off or a write-off reversal that involved the deleted timekeeper. Since the Timekeeper Productivity file cannot be edited directly, use the following procedure to correct the error 95:
- From the Tabs3 File menu, point to Open and then click Miscellaneous.
- On the Timekeeper tab, enter the timekeeper number indicated in the Key<Ref#> column of the Data File Integrity Check Error Report.
- Click the Save button on the toolbar, or press Ctrl+S to save the timekeeper record.
- Close the Timekeeper file, and run the Data File Integrity Check again to confirm that the error 95 has been corrected.
- Renumber the timekeeper added in the previous steps to a different number. We recommend maintaining one timekeeper number for all former timekeepers, so that no productivity information is lost.
Alternatively, you can delete the timekeeper record that was added in the previous step. The error 95 will not recur since all productivity information for that timekeeper will be deleted at the same time. Be aware, however, that productivity reports including write off information will not have the correct totals, since the write off information in those files was deleted for the timekeeper in question. You may want to wait until after closing the year to delete the timekeeper, so that productivity figures will not be affected.
PracticeMaster
- Drill down from the error report and change the invalid character to a valid timekeeper
number.
Tabs3 Remote
- If the error is in the validation files, simply recreate the Tabs3 validation files and
transfer the new validation files to the remote terminal.
- If the error is in the remote data files, use the information shown on the Error Report
and edit the appropriate record to correct the corrupted timekeeper number.
