The information in this article applies to:

SUMMARY

This error indicates that invalid characters were found in a Category field in Tabs3. The only characters allowed in this field are the numbers 1-999.

In Tabs3 Remote, this error can occur in either the remote data or the optional validation files.

RESOLUTION

In Tabs3 or TAS

Using the Data File Integrity Check Error Report, edit the appropriate Tabs3 record to correct the corrupted category number.

In Tabs3 Remote

If the errors are in the optional validation files:

Recreate the optional validation files in Tabs3.
Transfer them to the remote data directory.
Rerun the Data File Integrity Check program. If the errors are still present, run a Data File Integrity Check in Tabs3.

If the errors are in the fee file:

Edit the reference using the Fee data entry program in Tabs3 Remote by editing the corrupted category number.
Rerun the Data File Integrity Check program.
If several reference numbers have this type of error, it usually indicates that several records have been corrupted and you should probably restore your data files from a backup copy.
